Time to Experiment!

To begin, optionally use a permanent marker to draw a caterpillar face on the balloon.

Then ask your child to predict how many pom-poms they think they can stuff into the balloon. Write the number down so they can see it (or have them write it).

Let them experiment with the best way to get pom poms into the balloon and how to get the most in.

As they place the pom poms in the balloon, have them count.

Ask them to explain what they did and why they think it worked or didn’t work! Did they guess the correct number?
