Let's Play!

  • There are multiple ways to use these dinosaur prints - both for fine and gross motor! Regardless, we recommend either printing the prints on thick paper (like cardstock), gluing them to construction paper and then cutting them out or laminating them and then cutting them out.

Fine Motor: Dinosaur Print Pick Up

  • 6 months + (or not yet crawling): Lay your child on the floor and place the dinosaur prints around them, pick the prints up and encourage your little one to do the same!

  • 9 months + (or crawling): Place the dino prints all over the area you are using and encourage your little one to pick them up. Have a basket or bin handy and let them place the prints inside.

  • 12 months + (or able to stand on their own): Place the dino prints all over the area you are using along with on windows that are in their reach and encourage your little one to pick them up. Have a basket or bin handy and let them place the prints inside.

Fine Motor: Sticky Dinosaur (9 months +)

  • For this activity you will need to print off an image of a dinosaur like this one. We recommend taping the image to a large piece of cardboard and then tape contact paper on top. (You may also tape a bunch of double-sided tape on the image).

    • Lay (or stand if they are able to stand alone) the sticky dinosaur in front of your child and encourage them to place the feet on top. You will most likely need to show them how to match the feet on the image.

Gross Motor: Follow the Footprints (9 months +)

  • Tape the footprints down in some sort of path and encourage your child to follow them! Place little "obstacles" in their way such as pillows and such for them to crawl or walk over. Optionally have a dinosaur toy at the end waiting for them!

Gross Motor: Footprint stretching

  • 6 months + : tape down the footprints just out of reach of your little one to encourage them to stretch their arms to reach the prints.

  • 9 months +: tape the footprints down about the distance apart that their hands and feet would touch if they were crawling and encourage them to place their feet in those positions.

  • 12 months +: tape the footprints down around your child and encourage them to place their hands and feet on them. For this age place them in a way that is a bit more difficult to reach (think Twister Game circles!)
