Materials Needed

  • Paper Plate

  • Markers/crayons

  • Feathers (optional)

  • Non-toxic Glue

  • Craft Stick

Let's Create!

  • Mardi Gras is a huge celebration marking the end of the Carnival season. The three main colors are:

Purple: represents justice

Green: represents faith

Gold: represents power

  • For part of the Mardi Gras celebrations, people often wear masks on their faces, that’s what you will create for this activity!

  • Carefully cut the paper plate in half.

  • Then, make two holes for the eyes (we recommend an adult does this as cutting in the middle of the plate may be difficult).

  • Decorate the mask using purple, green, and gold!

  • Attach a popsicle stick to the bottom side of the mask so your child can hold it up to their face!
